West Virginia just picked up its biggest win since Bob Huggins. The Mountaineers upset Gonzaga in the Battle 4 Atlantis. They’re celebrating Thanksgiving Eve in Morgantown!

The first year of the Darian DeVries era at West Virginia got off to a bit of a rocky start as the Mountaineers lost 86-62 to unranked Pittsburgh just a few weeks ago. Now West Virginia has secured a decisive win and has a chance to improve its resume even further before leaving the Bahamas.

The Mountaineers now face Louisville, which beat No. 14 Indiana 89-61 earlier Wednesday.

West Virginia, which has only appeared in the NCAA Tournament twice since 2018, is hoping to finally get things back in the right direction. Even though it’s still early, a win over a top team is a good start.
