Chairman Loudermilk Releases Second Report January 6, 2021 – Press Releases

WASHINGTON – Today, House Administration Committee Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) released an interim report on his findings on the events surrounding January 6, 2021 and his investigation into the politicization of the Select Committee on January 6. January. This report outlines criminal recommendations against former Rep. Liz Cheney.

TOP RESULTS:

1. Former Rep. Liz Cheney worked with “star witness” Cassidy Hutchinson without the knowledge of Hutchinson’s attorney.

2. Former Rep. Liz Cheney should be investigated for possible witness tampering based on new information about her communications.

3. Cassidy Hutchinson’s most outrageous claims lacked any evidence, and the Select Committee knew her claims were false when they promoted them publicly.

  • President Trump did not attack his intelligence division at any point on January 6th.
  • President Trump had no information indicating violence on the morning of January 6th.
  • Cassidy Hutchinson falsely claimed to have written a handwritten note for President Trump on January 6th.
  • Reps. Cheney and Cassidy Hutchinson baselessly attempted to oust Hutchinson’s former attorney.

4. Former Rep. Liz Cheney used the January 6 Select Committee as a tool to attack President Trump at the expense of investigative integrity and Capitol security.

5. The January 6 Special Committee was improperly constituted and lacked authority.

6. The January 6 Select Committee neglected or withheld evidence in its final report and deleted extensive records that it should have retained.

7. The Department of Defense scapegoated the Washington DC National Guard to deflect blame from senior leadership.

  • Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller rejected President Trump’s order before January 6 to “use all military means to protect the demonstrations.”
  • Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy intentionally delayed the Washington DC National Guard’s response to the Capitol on January 6, despite authorization.
  • The Defense Department’s inspector general released a flawed report that contained falsifications and ignored relevant information.
  • The Department of Defense and the Department of Defense Inspector General knowingly and inaccurately blamed the D.C. National Guard leadership for the delayed response on January 6th.
  • The Defense Department’s inspector general did not respond to the subcommittee’s inquiries and even obstructed the subcommittee’s investigation.
  • The subcommittee found an inappropriately close relationship between the Department of Defense and its inspector general.

8. Both the FBI and Capitol Police failed to investigate the individuals responsible for building fake gallows on Capitol grounds on January 6th.

9. The subcommittee released more than 44,000 hours of CCTV footage from the Capitol.

10. The Subcommittee conducted a comprehensive review of the investigation into the two pipe bombs on January 5 and 6, and that report is scheduled to be released in the next few days.
