SACRAMENTO, Calif. –

Compton-born rapper Kendrick Lamar, riding high on his latest chart-topping album, announced a 2025 North American stadium tour with singer-songwriter SZA that includes stops in California.

Lamar’s “GNX” album arrived without warning. Since its release on November 22nd, it has taken the top spot away from other albums, including the “Wicked” soundtrack. Several of his songs also took top spots on the charts, including “Squabble Up,” which was teased in Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video with Canadian rapper Drake at the height of his rap career.

Now, Lamar, also known as K.Dot, is expected to perform songs from his latest album as part of his “Grand National Tour” with musical artist SZA, who is featured on the songs “Luther” and “Gloria.”

“GNX” is Lamar’s fourth consecutive No. 1 album.

There are three shows in California, two in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium on May 21st and 23rd, and a show on May 29th at Oracle Park in San Francisco.

This has been a busy year for Lamar, as his ongoing feud with Drake has resulted in both musicians writing several dissident tracks against each other. The most famous for the former is “Not Like Us,” which has almost a billion streams on Spotify. The music video for the song has more than 184 million views on YouTube.

In contrast, Drake’s “Family Matters” has more than 123 million streams on Spotify and its music video has more than 41 million views on YouTube.

In 2018, Lamar became the first musician outside the classical and jazz genres to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his 2017 album “Damn.”

In addition to being one of the best-selling music artists in the world, Drake is also a “global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors” and founded his record label OVO Sound.

The feud between the two only escalated in recent days.

Last month, Drake filed a lawsuit alleging that Universal Music Group, the distributor of both musicians’ record labels, boosted the popularity of “Not Like Us” on Spotify and other streaming services.

The filing alleges that UMG used “bots” and “pay-to-play arrangements” to make the song viral and fired employees who were perceived to be loyal to Drake.
