Chelsea traveling squad for Astana | News | Official site

Chelsea have landed in Kazakhstan ahead of tomorrow’s Conference League clash against Astana and 20 players are among the traveling party.

Blues head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the group selected for our longest ever European away trip would be made up of experienced players and players from our Cobham academy.

Filip Jorgensen, Axel Diasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Renato Veiga and Pedro Neto are among those who have traveled, while young players Josh Acheampong, Samuel Rak-Sakyi and Tyrique George will be among those hoping to add what they have already collected this term To expand minutes in the senior national team.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has played in all of our Conference League games this season and is also involved in Almaty. As did Carney Chukwuemeka, who has featured in three of our European games so far this season, and Marc Guiu, who scored his first Blues goal against Noah.

Academy players Richard Olise, Kaiden Wilson and Ato Ampah are in the senior squad for the first time. Kiano Dyer and Shim Mhueka are among the substitutes in previous Conference League games, while Harrison Murray-Campbell was on the bench in the FA Cup last season.

Harvey Vale is also in the squad with our U21s after a strong start to the season. He made his Blues debut on December 22, 2021 as a starter in an EFL Cup quarter-final win against Brentford and has five senior appearances to his name to date.
