Chicago Lawn Shooting: 6 Shots, 2 Fatal, on West 59th Street, CFD Says | LIVE

CHICAGO (WLS) – Six people were shot, two fatally, at a home in southwest Chicago on Monday afternoon, the Chicago Fire Department said.

CFD was called to the scene in the 3500 block of West 59th Street in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood just after 2:10 p.m. for reports of multiple people being shot, officials said.

There was a shooting at Chicago Lawn on Monday. According to CFD, six people were shot, two fatally, on West 59th Street.

Six people were shot; two were dead when rescue workers arrived.

According to the fire department, three people are in serious to critical condition.

Two people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and one was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The other victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in fair to serious condition.

Officials did not provide any further information about the victims.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Helicopter 7 was over the scene of the accident around 3 p.m. There is a massive emergency response in the area and roads appear to be closed.

Chicago police officers were seen entering a home on West 59th Street near St. Louis Avenue.

CPD is expected to release an update later on Monday.
