Christmas Eve in the Coachella Valley: Gusty westerly winds and cooler temperatures ahead

Happy Christmas Eve, Coachella Valley! As you head out this morning there are no issues, but we are observing some changes as we head out into the afternoon. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Coachella Valley from 4:00 p.m. to midnight this afternoon. Expect sustained winds between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph in places. If you have Christmas decorations outside that fall over easily, you may want to move them indoors or secure them.

Some of the impacts of this fast moving low pressure system will be showers in coastal areas, but we should remain dry here in the Valley.

Temperatures will be cooler this afternoon with highs near 70 degrees.
