The right to attack your archrival in college basketball goes to the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, who defeated their archrival Xavier 68-65 on Saturday afternoon. Xavier’s Zach Freemantle had an open three-point shot that failed to give UC the win.

UC trailed by seven points with 7:46 left, but fought back to give Wes Miller his first win in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout. The Bearcats are now 8-1 while Xavier falls to 8-3.

It was the first sellout of the season, with the Fifth Third Arena filled to capacity with 12,012 fans.

Simas Lukošius overcame early shooting woes to lead the Bearcats with 14 points, while Aziz Bandaogo had 12 and Dillon Mitchell had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Dan Skillings Jr. was back in the starting lineup and scored 10 points.
