Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals prediction for NFL Week 16

CINCINNATI – One team in tonight’s Battle of Ohio still has a path to the playoffs. The other still has a path to No. 1 in the standings despite a season that has faltered.

Guess which is which.

The Cincinnati Bengals (6-8) welcome the Browns into their concrete jungle for another haul in hopes of continuing to play meaningful football games beyond this week. The Los Angeles Chargers’ victory over the Denver Broncos on Thursday night kept those hopes alive, at least until the outcome of Sunday’s games is determined.

Enter the Browns, who are 3-11 and have a 2.4% chance of going No. 1 in the draft, according to ESPN. Cleveland can end those hopes with its first win in Cincinnati since 2021.

Easterling: The crazy fact that Cincinnati could potentially find themselves outside of the playoffs again is crazy because their offense has been elite this season. Quarterback Joe Burrow has returned from his thumb injury at the end of last season and appears to be the best version of himself, while wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase calculates that the Bengals will have to pay to keep him. This is the offense the Browns expect Dorian Thompson-Robinson to run shot-for-shot. Cleveland’s defense has played well against Cincinnati throughout Burrow’s career.
