Icy roads are expected throughout Cobb County on Saturday.

• The below freezing temperatures are causing slippery patches and patches of black ice on the roadways this morning. Be extra careful when driving and slow down to reduce your risk. Conditions should gradually improve as temperatures slowly rise above freezing this morning.

The Cobb County Department of Transportation had its road maintenance crews treat the thoroughfares overnight. That’s what they do NOT Treat neighborhood or side streets. Crews cleared more than a dozen fallen trees overnight that were affecting roads or power lines. There are isolated reports of power outages in the district.
