Cobra Kai ‘Never Dies’ Final Episode Teaser Highlights a ‘Legacy That Will Live Forever’

The stars appear in a 30-second trailer for part 3 of the sixth and final season of the Netflix hit Ralph Macchio and William Zabka promise to deliver the action one last time. As a montage of the cast in various karate positions flashes across the screen, viewers can hear chants: “Cobra Kai!”

“Four decades of history all leading up to this moment,” Macchio begins.

“Since we were children, you have cheered us on and had our backs,” Zabka continues. “What do we have to show for it?”

Macchio claims: “A legacy that will live forever.”

“This could be the end,” says Zabka, before he and Macchio declare together: “But Cobra Kai never dies.”

After launching with YouTube Red/YouTube Premium in 2018, Cobra Kai made its Netflix debut in 2020. Actor Karate kid Joining Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Zabka as Johnny Lawrence are Peyton List (Tory), Martin Kove (John), Jacob Bertrand as (Eli), Mary Mouser (Samantha), Tanner Buchanan (Robby) and Xolo Maridueña (Miguel), Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen) and Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny).

The synopsis for Part 3 states: “After a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their past while facing an uncertain future on and off the mat.” Nearly 40 years after the events of Space “The Valley Karate Tournament in 1984 is what led to this.”

Part 2 ended with the death of Cobra Kai fighter Kwon (Brandon H. Lee) after he fell on a knife during a violent brawl at the Sekai Taikai tournament. Co-creator Jon Hurwitz told The Hollywood Reporter in November that the final five episodes of season six will “explore everyone’s reaction to what happened.”

“We intentionally ended this middle block with a lot of questions that need to be answered in the final block, and one of them is definitely: What will happen to this tournament and people’s opinion of karate in general?” Hurwitz added.

He also teased that the characters’ fates would be revealed.

“We look forward to resolving stories – and not every resolution is a happy ending, but it’s still a resolution,” he explained.

Although Macchio was sad about the series ending, he said during an appearance on ” The view in July 2024 that the end came at the right time.

“I feel like it’s time to land the plane. If you go over your time limit, it’s not always the best move,” he explained. “For me it doesn’t mean “goodbye”, but “see you next time”. The fans will never let it go.”

In the same month, the makers of Cobra Kai revealed that they had already been thinking about what’s next for the Miyagi-verse, as told by Hayden Schlossberg The Hollywood Reporter that they are “absolutely” considering spin-offs.

Cobra Kai itself is in some ways a spin-off of The Karate Kid. … We feel like we could do that with any of the characters on the show. We think about the fun of following them in their future and beyond that we think about the past,” he said.

“We spoke to Robert Mark Kamen, the author of the original Karate kid. “We talked to him about the whole Miyagi backstory,” he continued. “Now that we’re done (with Cobra Kai), we can actually start to look at this issue.”
