Colby Covington attacks LeBron James, Jon Jones, Khamzat Chimaev and others in wild tirade outside UFC Tampa

Next weekend at UFC Tampa, Colby Covington returns to action for the first time in nearly a year when he takes on the up-and-coming Joaquin Buckley in the main event.

Last time out, Colby Covington once again failed at an undisputed title shot, losing to Leon Edwards at UFC 296.

After his disappointing loss, “Chaos” revealed that he had broken his foot in the first round. He has since been recovering from the injury and waiting for the right time to return.

Colby Covington takes on LeBron James and Jon Jones ahead of comeback fight

The 36-year-old is one of the more outspoken fighters on the entire roster and caused major controversy ahead of his fight against “Rocky” Edwards when he spoke badly about Edwards’ late father.

Despite the criticism he received for his vile comments, he once again fired shots at many different athletes during UFC Tampa fight week, with basketball star LeBron James even catching walkers.

“I will start with this as I am the man of the hour and the man of the show. I want to ask LeBron (James) what he means by ‘There’s no party like a Diddy party,’ I really want to know,” Covington began last Wednesday at UFC Tampa media day.

Covington repeatedly criticized LeBron, stating that he was a “scumbag” and that he hoped he would be locked up.

The former UFC interim welterweight champion then turned his attention to UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Covington and Jones have a long-standing historical feud that dates back to their college days.

Covington has always maintained that “Bones” refuses to attend the same events as him and that they remain separated.

“Jon has some fruity tendencies… This is no joke, he knows deep down that I know his dark, hidden secrets… Jon Jones is a disgrace to this earth, he’s a fucking joke, yes, he has Stipe (Miocic ) beaten. First of all, respect to Stipe, he’s a first responder… Kudos to Stipe, he’s the greatest heavyweight of all time.

“I don’t think anything special about (Jones’) performance. I think Jon needs to stop ducking Tom Aspinall the same way he ducked (Francis) Ngannou for years, he doesn’t want to fight the guys he knows he’s going to get.” “The asshole cheered against that “he continued.

Covington turns his attention to Khamzat Chimaev in an explicit tirade

Next on Covington’s casualty list was middleweight title contender Khamzat Chimaev. “Chaos” and “Borz” have been linked to a potential fight against each other several times since Chimaev’s debut in 2020, but the bout never came to fruition.

The Chechen recently missed out on a chance at the 185-pound title when the promotion opted for a rematch between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland instead.

“Dude, he’s an absolute scumbag. The fact that he targeted all of his fans is the most disgusting act I have ever seen in MMA. He and Khabib are just absolute frauds.

“As an MMA fighter, I don’t think he’s anything special. In that fight with Gilbert Burns, he realized that he doesn’t have good cardio training. I thought (Kamaru) Usman had beaten him when they fought. I thought Usman hit him twice. 1,” he said.

Turning his attention to the task at hand, Covington believes a win over Joaquin Buckley will put him in the conversation for another welterweight title shot, despite being 2-3 in his last five fights.

“My name is always in the title fight. I’m the biggest name in this sport, there are no stars in the division. “It’s a bunch of bums… I think after Saturday night I’ll be the next one fighting for the title,” he claimed.
