What: A winter system will move across the region after 8 p.m. Friday. SE MN and NE IA could see rain, snow, a rain/snow mix and freezing rain.

Accumulations: At the moment there is no clear indication of how much snow we could see from this system. Warm air aloft could potentially limit snowfall and change the precipitation type to a mix of freezing rain.

Effects: A variety of impacts will be possible. Slippery and snowy roads are possible throughout the day on Saturday.

Questions still remain unanswered: The track of this system is still uncertain. If it shifts slightly north, our precipitation could turn to rain, bringing wintry weather closer to cities.
