Colder temperatures and snow showers starting in 2025 in Metro Detroit

4Weather warning – After a few showers at the start of the weekend, further showers are expected towards the end of the weekend and we will also include gusty winds in the forecast for the end of the weekend.

Our next round of rain begins on Sunday towards the end of the weekend, so it’s likely that it will rain for everyone for most of the day. The high temperatures will cool down a bit, reaching over 40 and under 50 degrees by Sunday afternoon. Winds will be gusty throughout the day, with wind speeds expected to reach 25 to 30 miles per hour.

Rain showers will continue into the early hours of the night before easing. Expect temperatures to turn colder with overnight lows falling into the mid 30s.

Dry weather is forecast again early next week on Monday, with skies starting off mostly cloudy before we get a few breaks in the clouds for some sunshine. High temperatures remained around 40°C until Monday afternoon.

Our next system moves into the region on Tuesday and it looks like rain showers will transition to snow showers as cooler air moves into the region. High temperatures will reach the low 40s by Tuesday afternoon.

Once the low pressure system moves eastward, a northwesterly flow will enter the region early in the new year. This brings colder air to the region and there is a chance of snow showers from Wednesday through the end of the week on Friday. The high temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will be over 30 degrees, on Friday they will drop to over 20 degrees by the end of the week.

We will keep cloud cover in the forecast through the start of next weekend. Temperatures will remain below freezing until the first weekend of the new year. On Saturday temperatures will rise to over 20 degrees.
