Colin Jost reads wild jokes about his wife Scarlett Johansson and her reactions say it all

“Weekend Update” host Colin Jost apologized in advance as he was tasked with reading out never-before-seen, wild jokes written by co-host Michael Che in a “black voice” to continue their tradition of joke swapping on Saturday .

And things got even more awkward for Jost when his wife Scarlett Johansson, who appeared on the show’s opener earlier that evening, watched him tell Che’s jokes about her on live television.

“Why?” asked Jost, who smiled sheepishly as a graphic of his wife appeared on the screen before “dedicating” the joke to his “boo.”

The broadcast cut to a shot of Johansson shaking her head disapprovingly while holding a glass of water before the cameras focused on her watching her husband on television backstage.

“No, oh my God, she’s so genuinely concerned,” Jost said, watching her reaction.

He then made a series of shocking jokes.

“Hey boo, you know Scarlett just celebrated her 40th birthday, which means I’m about to get out of there,” Jost joked. “Shiz.”

Johansson looked a bit confused and amused before Jost continued.

“No no. I’m just playing. We just had a kid together and you haven’t seen any pictures of him because he’s fucking black,” Jost said, giggling for a few seconds.

“Fuck, fuck. I’m not afraid of you mofos.”

The show then cut back to Johansson – who married the comedian in 2020 and has a son with him – taking a sip of water while shaking her head.

Later in the section, Jost addressed an unsafe joke Che had written about Costco removing its roast beef sandwich from its menu.

“But I’m not tripping, I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the baby,” Jost said as he giggled and put his head in his hand.

“Oh my God,” Johansson appeared to say backstage.

Jost continued: “No, no. I’m just playing, baby. You know I won’t sink. Shiz. That’s gay as hell.”
