College football bowl games today: The Bahamas Bowl is on the schedule

The final curtain falls on the non-playoff portion of the College Football Bowl slate with a final game on Saturday. In-person participants require a passport, and first-time visitors may be surprised by the road configuration for drivers on the opposite side of the vehicle, but those who have made the trip will undoubtedly have fun. Unfortunately, the rest of us have to make do with the numerous television views of tropical landscapes.

What is that? Oh yes, right, the game. It’s a Group Five match that might fly under your radar, but as far as postseason rewards go, this one is pretty nice. Here is the overview of the teams and key players.

Time/TV/Location: Saturday, 11 a.m. ET, ESPN2, Nassau.

Why watch: The Caribbean is a more than desirable destination if you’re traveling from Buffalo in January. The Flames should also be happy to be here, even if it could be a disappointment after last year’s season ended in the Fiesta Bowl. The Bulls should be near full strength with QB CJ Ogbonna and RB Al-Jay Henderson leading the offense. Liberty said goodbye to outgoing transfer QB Kaidon Salter, meaning Ryan Burger will start in Nassau.

Why it might disappoint: It’s an unfortunate reality of bowl season that player movement has become part of the equation. However, the Flames’ season wasn’t meeting expectations even before the transfers, so this could be a big day for the Bulls.
