The in-state battle between Notre Dame and Indiana is a great start to the College Football Playoff.

There is one aspect that will make the difference for us No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 10 Indiana in the opening game of the College Football Playoff, according to Paul Finebaum.

Finebaum quickly broke down the match between the Fighting Irish and Hoosiers on “Get Up” on Friday. First, he has been there for Notre Dame in their important game since their last playoff appearance in 2020.

“I like Notre Dame,” Finebaum said on a panel on ESPN this morning. “I remember when Notre Dame didn’t even play bowl games. That’s why it’s so important when you’re a little older than EJ (Manuel).”

Again, there’s a lot to see in this interstate duel between programs three and a half hours apart, yet the two that haven’t met in over three decades. This also includes the weather tonight, as it is expected to snow on campus today, with temperatures of 35° or less.

“For me, Notre Dame’s defense will be the difference.”
