Commander’s Pro-Bowler makes a shocking, life-changing gesture on the field after beating the Falcons

The Washington Commanders secured a spot in the playoffs with an overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.

It was the first time Washington made the playoffs since 2020. It is the first time since 1991 that the team achieved 11 wins.

While it was by no means an easy win, Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ offense once again came into their own when it mattered most. After the Falcons tied the game with an improbable touchdown pass from Michael Penix Jr. to Kyle Pitts on fourth down with under a minute and 30 seconds left, Washington’s offense was stifled at the end of regulation.

A pass interference penalty with two seconds left in regulation gave the Falcons a chance to score a 56-yard field goal that would have won the game, but it failed.

Washington won the coin toss – and like so many times earlier this season, Daniels orchestrated a beautiful 12-play, 70-yard drive that was capped off with his third touchdown pass of the night. The Commanders’ rookie found Zach Ertz on a quick slant in the end zone, sealing Washington’s playoff fate.

Daniels finished the game with 227 yards and three touchdowns through the air while adding another 16 carries for 127 yards on the ground.

After the game, players and fans celebrated on the field and in the stands at the Nordweststadion.

But one of Washington’s leaders, Jeremy Reaves – who made the Pro Bowl last season as a special teams player – wasn’t done contributing to the magical evening.

Reaves proposed to his girlfriend on the field, a scene caught on camera by local reporters and attended by many fans.

It was definitely a cool scene in Washington.
