How does the community show respect today? ERIN? THAT’S CORRECT. LINDSEY. GOOD DAY. It was a gloomy morning here. WHILE PEOPLE CONTINUE TO FILL IN. MONUMENT TO OFFICER HORAN. A PARKED POLICE CAR IN FRONT OF THE GPD DEPARTMENT BUILDING. People dropped items like wreaths and hoodies on the police car. One man I spoke with told us that he will remember Officer Horan’s kindness and how he helped his family during their own time of grief when they lost a loved one. PEOPLE OF ALL AGES ALSO ATTENDED, INCLUDING A 111-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO SAYS OFFICER HORAN CHANGED HIS LIFE. He made me feel like I could push my limits and move forward with my life and he made me feel good, happy and joyful. And that’s really indicative of the impact that Officer Horan has had on the GREENSBORO community. The GREENSBORO POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION has launched an online fundraiser for his family, and the number has now grown throughout the day, exceeding $72,000, to learn more about Officer Horan’s life and his donations.
