Concert tickets are disappearing from an Arizona man’s Ticketmaster account

SHOW LOW, AZ (AZFamily) – A man from Show Low purchased tickets to a concert through Ticketmaster, but his tickets were somehow stolen from his account.

It seems to be part of a growing trend.

Jonathan Person is confused and frustrated. He spent $410 on two tickets to see the band Korn at Talking Stick Amphitheater.

His purchase got off to a rocky start.

“So I look at my account and I don’t see the tickets in the Live Nation account,” Person said. “It just means please wait. They’ll be there soon. They’ll be there soon.”

Although Jonathan never saw the tickets on his phone, he and a friend headed to Phoenix, expecting the concert tickets would eventually show up.

Instead, he received an email from Live Nation, the owner of Ticketmaster, saying his tickets had been transferred from his account to someone named “AP.” However, Jonathan says he never transferred the tickets to anyone.

“And then we’re just sitting in this hotel room down in Phoenix, twiddling our thumbs, thinking: I can’t even have the fun that I was promised six months ago,” he said. “I don’t know what’s going on here, man.”

He is not alone.

Morgen Bernius, a mother from Maryland, was heartbroken when Taylor Swift tickets she had surprised her daughter with were charged from her Ticketmaster account weeks before the concert.

“The tickets were gone,” she said. “Gone. I could cry now thinking about it. Yes. You know, it was devastating.”

Ticket disappearances were a problem across the country, and people were posting about it on TikTok.

According to Ticketmaster, most complaints are resolved within about 48 hours and customers receive their tickets back.

But that didn’t happen to Jonathan, who has been waiting for two months to get his $410 back.

So Jonathan’s friend recommended contacting On Your Side.

“He was like, ‘Man, this is incredibly frustrating,'” he said. “‘I don’t know what to do. You don’t know what to do. But I’ve seen On Your Side’s work before, and it’s at least worth checking out, man.'”

On Your Side has contacted Ticketmaster and they are investigating the situation.

Once they find and return his money, we will let you know in another news report.
