Enzo Maresca made ten changes for today’s UEFA Conference League game in Heidenheim, with Benoit Badiashile the only player to retain his place.

Badiashile played the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s 2-1 win at Leicester City and will start again in Heidenheim as Maresca have the same five defenders as in our last Conference League game, the 8-0 win against Noah at Stamford Bridge.

That means Filip Jorgensen will take his place between the posts and Badiashile is expected to line up alongside Tosin Adarabioyo in the middle of the defense, with Renato Veiga and current captain Axel Disasi as the full-backs.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall and Cesare Casadei are in midfield. The latter is in the Blues’ first team for the third time, having also been in the squad for the Carabao Cup win against Barrow and the Conference League win against Gent this season.

Marc Guiu looks ready to lead the attack like he did against Noah. Jadon Sancho – making his first start since the trip to Liverpool last month after returning from the bench at Leicester – and Mykhailo Mudryk come in on the flanks, meaning Christopher Nkunku is likely to slot between them behind the striker will sit in the number 10 role, which Maresca highlighted as the France international’s best placement in yesterday’s pre-match press conference.

Substitutes include Academy youth players Kiano Dyer, Samuel Rak-Sakyi, Tyrique George and Shumaira Mheuka. Dyer and Mheuka would both be making their senior debut if they came on as a substitute tonight, while Rak-Sakyi and George have already made their first appearances of this year’s Conference League season.
