To keep yours Connections winning streak alive, Newsweek has put together some clues to guide you through Tuesday’s mystery without giving too much away.

After his debut in The New York Times in June 2023, Connections quickly built up a large fan base. The word-based game challenges players to group words using subtle connections, combining logic with language skills. Today, it’s just behind it as the release’s second most popular game Wordle.

In case you are not familiar with it ConnectionsThis article will walk you through the basics of the game, provide tips for sharpening your puzzle-solving skills, and provide hints for today’s challenge.

How to play “Connections.”

Connections tasks players with dividing 16 words into four categories based on association.

Each group is color-coded to indicate difficulty level: yellow for the easiest, followed by green, blue and purple for more challenging sets. The puzzles often contain homophones, puns and other clever phrases, so they are rarely easy. Players can use the random key to mix up the words on the screen if they get stuck.

Once you’ve decided on your four words, click the “Send” button. If your entry is correct, the terms will flash in the category color and will be removed from the board. However, if they are wrong, they turn gray and stay on the table.

There is no time limit for the game, so you can spend your Tuesday thinking about the answers. However, players only have four guesses before the answers are revealed.

Wyna Liu, crossword editor at The New York Times which has developed Connectionspreviously told Newsweek about their recommended tips for playing the game.

“My best advice is to wait as long as possible before guessing,” she said. “You may see the board and have fully identified the category by seeing five words that could belong in that category. Don’t try to guess the four words in this category, because even if you know what the fifth member is, you won’t know.” “Do you know which of the four it might not be,” which is ultimately a waste were.

“Don’t do what I do, which is ‘get rid of anger,'” she added.

Yellow: These words all have something to do with music.

Green: Answers that refer to a quantity of something.

Blue: Different expressions are often used in titles.

Purple: These answers refer to repeating phrases.
