Cooper Flagg appears to be solidifying himself as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo released their latest mock draft on Thursday, with the Washington Wizards selecting the Duke star with the top overall pick. He is followed by Rutgers playmakers Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey in second and third place.

B/R’s Jonathan Wasserman also projected these three players in the same order in his mock draft earlier this month, although Wasserman had the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 1 overall pick.

That would mean Flagg would be teaming up with Zion Williamson, which would spell trouble for the Rims in New Orleans due to their dunking abilities and would also be an intriguing development for Blue Devils fans.

“Everything we’ve seen so far with Cooper Flagg feels expected,” Wasserman wrote. “The athleticism, the passing IQ and the defense translated first. His shot creation is sharpening and expanding – he’s developing balanced looks through dribbles, spins, pull-ups and post-ups – but there are still reminders of his.” His shooting seems shaky, but given his age and what he’s done so far Size efficient and in need of improvement.”

A big difference between Flagg and the Rutgers stars at the college level at this point is their overall success as a team.

Duke has a 13-2 record with wins over Auburn, Arizona and Louisville. It looks like a potential ACC Championship contender, which could land him the No. 1 seed on Selection Sunday.

That would give Flagg a chance to further bolster his draft stock in front of a national audience during the NCAA Tournament.

But Harper and Bailey may not join him at the big dance. After all, the Scarlet Knights are just 8-7 overall and 1-3 in Big Ten play heading into tough games against national-level opponents in Purdue, UCLA, Michigan State, Illinois, Michigan and Oregon.

Unless Harper and Bailey, who combine to average 40.2 points per game and are the team’s only double-digit scorers, are able to engineer a dramatic turnaround, NBA fans tuning in to March Madness will be rooting for the top candidates see, may not have the chance to watch two of the top three picks.
