You may have heard of playoff beards, where fans or players don’t shave during the playoffs as a good luck charm.

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp already has the beard. Now he mixes it with his hair.

With his long beard and typically unkempt hair, Kupp can appear caveman-like, although he has also been known to hum with his dome. However, during a pregame interview before Los Angeles’ wild-card game against Minnesota, Kupp revealed some new braids.

Cooper Kupp’s braids, explained

We don’t normally see Kupp’s hair as it’s usually under a helmet. The wide receiver also tends to make media appearances wearing a hat. However, when we saw Kupp’s hair, it was either curly or long, and there wasn’t really much in between.

When most people think of the Rams wide receiver, they probably think of his long hair covering his bearded face, like when he had straight, longer hair earlier this season. When viewers saw the drastic change in braids, it shocked many.

We’re not sure why we decided to pigtail before the playoff game, but Kupp clearly felt like he needed a change. We wish him good luck with his bold decision.
