Coroner confirms cause of death of father of missing Hawaii woman found outside LAX

The father of a missing 30-year-old Hawaii woman died of “multiple traumatic blunt force injuries,” a California coroner confirmed.

Online records say Ryan Kobayashi died in a parking lot Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

According to a GoFundMe account, his loved ones said they were “all heartbroken and speechless.”

Citing a police spokesperson, PEOPLE said authorities responded to reports of “an apparent suicide” after someone called police and said it looked like a person had escaped from a parking garage at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). would have fallen or jumped.

The news follows reports of Kobayashi’s daughter Hannah, who reportedly disappeared after missing her connecting flight at LAX.

Her family said they were worried for her safety and feared she had been kidnapped.

“Hannah’s last message to us was alarming. “She mentioned that she was scared and that someone might try to steal her money and her identity,” her aunt, who NBC News identified as Larie Pidgeon, said on social media.

The media outlet noted that Pidgeon is known as Larie Ingrum on Facebook.

“She has not been heard from since and we are seriously concerned for her safety,” the relative wrote.

Another post noted that Hannah was at LAX on November 8th on her way to visit her family in New York City. However, according to the post, she missed the connecting flight.

While she had communicated with the family via text message, her messages stopped a few days later, the family said.

Her relatives said they had contacted Los Angeles police but urged the public to keep an eye out for her. They said she lives in Maui, is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and fair skin with freckles.

“Time is of the essence and we hope your voices can help spread this message in the Los Angeles area to increase visibility and bring Hannah safely back to Maui,” the post reads.
