Cowboys vs. Eagles injury report

Injury report from Wednesday

The Eagles released their first injury report of the week on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s NFC East showdown with the rival Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.

The team did not hold practices, so the following injury report is an estimate.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts would not have practiced on Wednesday because of the concussion he suffered last Sunday in Washington.

Meanwhile, backup quarterback Kenny Pickett would have been limited due to injured ribs.

Tanner McKee, who was the third emergency quarterback this season, said Tuesday that his preparation hasn’t changed after injuries to his position.

“I feel like I’ve always prepared to be the starter and play, and so my preparation will remain the same,” McKee said. “And you know, I’m obviously excited about any opportunity I get, but we’re going to take it day by day for these guys.”

“I think just being close to the guys and being close to the system, I feel a lot more comfortable with the system and the NFL as a whole, how to read defenses, just from last year to this year, I just have another one year behind me.” . And when I get the opportunity, I’m happy to show it.”

Linebacker Nakobe Dean also wouldn’t have practiced with an abdominal injury.

Running back/return specialist Will Shipley is also in the NFL concussion protocol alongside Hurts.

Two Eagles players recovering from injury would have been full participants: wide receiver/punt returner Britain Covey (neck) and defensive end Bryce Huff (wrist). Covey hasn’t played since the Dec. 1 win in Baltimore, while Huff is working to come off injured reserve within the 21-day practice window.

Several other veterans would have had typical rest days on Wednesday.
