CREATURE COMMANDOS “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes as DC Studios audience rating is announced

The first two episodes of Creature Commands premiered yesterday on Max and the first DCU project just received a 93% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Audiences also weighed in on the review aggregator, giving the DC Studios TV series a solid 81%. This week, the #ReleaseTheAyerCut movement saw a resurgence on social media, with DCEU fans campaigning for David Ayer again Suicide Squad be published in its original form.

That’s 26% from critics and 58% from moviegoers; Man of Steelwhich launched the DCEU in 2013, is now at 57% and 75%.

Apart from the comparisons, Creature CommandsThe “critics consensus” states: “Bringing author James Gunn’s signature penchant for zany humor and endearing characters, Creature Commandos marks a promising debut for the DCU.”

DC Studios has had good success on Rotten Tomatoes so far; Documentary, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeves Storyhas 98% and The penguin is 95%.

In a recent interview with Variety, showrunner Dean Lorey explained the decision to include an animated version of Gunn in the show’s opening credits. “We did it without telling James.” he confirmed. “We thought: I hope he’s not offended!”

Gunn chimed in and said: “Well, I didn’t say no, but I didn’t want people to think I told them to put themselves in there. My ego was stroked and I was very embarrassed. But at the end of the day I said OK, and it’s in there. So what are you going to do?
