More than 7,000 pounds of raw Italian pork sausage products from Impero Foods & Meats, Inc. have been recalled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Services.

According to a statement released this week, the agency found that approximately 7,483 pounds of meat containing potentially “deadly ingredients” were distributed without federal inspection to three states, including Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

The recall applies to 10 pounds. White cardboard boxes containing a plastic bag of “Old World Sausage” with the handwritten words “Rope” or “Connection” on the box.

It contains the company number “EST. 10827” in the USDA inspection mark.

There are currently no reports of anyone affected by the recall.

Panic followed after Handsome Brook Farms recalled its Kirkland Signature 24-Count Organic Pastured Eggs sold at Costco last month due to possible salmonella contamination.

According to the FDA, thousands of eggs were distributed to 25 Costco outposts in five states, including Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The contaminated eggs were sold in a plastic carton with Julian code 327, UPC 9661910680 and an expiration date of January 6, 2025.
