Daddy Yankee files a restraining order against his estranged wife over money

UPDATE (12/17): According to a new legal document obtained by billboardDaddy Yankee filed a second motion on Friday (December 13) claiming that Mireddys González also withdrew $20 million from the bank account of another of his music companies, Los Cangris, calling it a “desperate attempt” who contradicted the “warnings received and express a request that she put an end to any management or initiative that would jeopardize the company’s finances,” the filing states. “It now becomes clear why she wanted to keep him in the dark and deny him information about the withdrawals and cash movements that she and her sister were making behind his back.” The $20 million is in addition to the $80 million that Daddy Yankee claims González withdrew a separate restraining order from his El Cartel Records bank account on the same day.

PREVIOUSLY: Daddy Yankee filed a legal motion in Puerto Rico on Friday (December 13) seeking a temporary restraining order against his soon-to-be-ex-wife Mireddys González, claiming she took $80 million from his bank account “without authorization.” El Cartel Records took off. according to court documents obtained by billboard.

The reggaetón hitmaker’s (Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez) lawsuit was filed in a San Juan court against González, her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos and El Cartel Records, a company founded by Yankee where González allegedly served as CEO and González Castellanos as secretary acts as /treasurer.

The 16-page filing states: “Although Plaintiff is the owner of the Company’s stock and is the reason Cartel Records Inc. exists, today he lacks access, interference and information to everything he has. “has generated and continues to generate and to which he is entitled.”

Now Yankee is demanding that the court ensure that “plaintiffs are immediately barred from any role or involvement in the companies as officers or administrators and are provided with the information and documents they have unlawfully withheld.”

Yankee alleges that González and González Castellanos improperly attempted to “concentrate in their persons greater power over the operations of the cartel than was authorized, resulting in detrimental and negligent performance to the company.” He also claims that they “failed to provide an accurate account of their actions, disregarded formalities and requirements of corporate legislation, and made irresponsible financial decisions.”

In a statement of claim detailed in Friday’s court filing, Yankee says González hired a third party to represent El Cartel in the sale of the plaintiff’s music catalog to Concord billboard reported in October. He claims that the transaction was formalized by the sale of these rights at a price that “turned out to be unreasonable, disproportionate and far below the actual value.”

“Although the plaintiff signed the agreement on the advice of this third party and the defendant, the plaintiff was not provided with a copy of all contract documents and to this day he is not aware of the actual scope of the transaction, does he have detailed knowledge of what was sold and what “Doesn’t know what restrictions he may have on the use of his musical creations?” the filing states.

According to legal filings, the massive theft of company funds occurred on Thursday (December 12) after Yankee had already stripped González and González Castellanos of authority and “warned that they could not conduct transactions on behalf of El Cartel.”

“Without the knowledge or authorization of the plaintiff and in violation of legal requirements, a bank transfer was made in which, according to the information received, eighty million dollars were withdrawn from the company’s corporate account,” his lawyers wrote.

The new legal battle comes just weeks after Daddy Yankee and Gonzalez announced they were divorcing after 20 years of marriage.

“With a heart full of respect and honesty, I would like to share some important news from my personal life,” Yankee said in a statement on his Instagram Stories on December 2nd. “After more than two decades of marriage and after many months of trying to save the marriage that my wife and I share, my lawyers today respond to the divorce petition received by Mireddys.”

In addition to her role as CEO of El Cartel, González was also the reggeatón artist’s manager and is widely known for being a major influence on Yankee’s music career. As the artist said before billboard: “She’s the boss. She was always the boss.”
