Dallas Weather: Blizzard Weather Forecast

Today’s forecast:

Gusty winds dropped temperatures to over 20 degrees across the metroplex this morning, with cooler winds making temperatures feel as low as 6 degrees. The wind chill will fluctuate between 5 and 15 degrees until at least midday.

Winds will ease by this afternoon, allowing temperatures to rise to over 40°C. A further drop into the 20s is expected this evening, although with lighter winds.

Weather tomorrow:

Tuesday will bring a mix of partly sunny and cloudy skies with highs above 30 degrees.

Will it snow?

A severe storm system is expected to develop over Arizona and move into northern Mexico by Wednesday, potentially producing severe weather or very light snow in North Texas.

There is a high chance of a wintry mix of freezing rain, snow or sleet on Thursday. This mix is expected to be short-lived and dissipate by Thursday evening.

Although the exact details are still uncertain three days later, areas where snow will see accumulations of 5 to 10 cm could occur. Forecasts become more refined as the storm approaches.

The system should be operational by Friday morning, but untreated roads may still be icy or slushy, especially if temperatures remain near or below freezing. Any remaining mud could freeze again overnight.
