Dallas Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for North Texas

It’s going to be a stormy start to your Saturday in North Texas.

Rain and storms will continue from late morning until around midday.

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect until midday for much of North Texas. This could be extended to our eastern areas.

The area that will see the most rain and storms is south and east of the Metroplex.

In the southeast there is a risk of flooding, a risk of hail and an additional risk of wind.

The strongest storms, with a higher potential for severe storms, will occur in east and southeast Texas.

North Texas should dry out fairly quickly. In the afternoon, the rain showers will move east and there could be some sun breaking through and temperatures climbing into the 60s.

Showers could occur again in the early evening.

Sunday will be a much calmer day, but we expect fog and low clouds in the morning.

Once that subsides, temperatures should reach well into the 60s to 70s and skies will be partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Monday continues to look extremely warm, with temperatures in the upper 70s and some spots with temperatures in the upper 80s and gusty winds ahead of a cold front.

Tuesday will be dry, crisp and cool with high temperatures in the mid 50s.

New Year’s Eve will see temperatures dip below 40°C as winds die down for those venturing out.
