Today’s forecast:

Most of today’s precipitation will be a slushy mix of sleet and rain, with less snow falling during the day. Kids, don’t expect to build a snowman on your snow day today – we’ll see most of the snow tomorrow morning.

In most areas, temperatures will remain at or above freezing. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 30s across the metroplex this morning, except in McKinney and northern areas where temperatures may dip into the high 20s.

Sleet is expected early this morning before temperatures rise, resulting in wet rather than frozen road conditions.

The heaviest snowfall will begin after dark and continue until after midnight. Moderate snowfall is expected for several hours in the early evening, starting around 8 p.m. The snowfall is expected to be mostly over by sunrise Friday morning.

Southern portions of the Metroplex are expected to see 1 to 3 inches of snow, while northern portions are expected to see 3 to 6 inches of snow.
