Dallas Wilson, five-star receiver for the Oregon Ducks, is released and goes to the Florida Gators?

The Oregon Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class loses the commitment of five-star receiver Dallas Wilson, who will reportedly head to the Florida Gators. Wilson has been with Oregon coach Dan Lanning’s Ducks since January 2023. The five-star prospect is considered the second-ranked wide receiver in the country.

According to a report from On3’s Gators Online, Wilson has asked that Oregon be released from his financial affidavit and will sign with Florida upon his release.

Wilson spoke with the Oregon Ducks on SI in an exclusive interview after signing during the Early National Signing Period.

“All my life I’ve thought if I ever got an offer from Oregon, I was going to commit,” Wilson said on Dec. 6. “One day I was talking to my Spanish teacher and I thought, if I ever get an offer, ‘Get that offer from Oregon, I’ll commit.’ That same day, Coach (Adrian) Klemm came to talk to me. He said, “Yes, we would like to offer that to you.” And I was thrilled. I think that same day, right when he left, I got involved and the whole coaching team was happy about me. It was just an incredible moment.”

“Dan Lanning is the coolest guy in the world,” Wilson continued. “I think he’s one of the best head coaches in the nation, if not the best. “He definitely knows how to talk to a player. He knows my background, my life, and I appreciate him taking the time to learn about me because a lot of head coaches just want you to come to their schools and play for them, and it’s theirs It doesn’t really matter, but Oregon has been real since day one.”

Two weeks later, Wilson gave up his commitment to Florida. Coach Billy Napier’s Gators and coach Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes pushed for Wilson to move later in the recruiting cycle.

Wilson is a 6-3, 195-pound receiver from Tampa, Florida, and moving back to his home state made an impression. Wilson visited the Swamp for the Gators’ 27-16 victory over LSU, which helped Florida’s case.

With Wilson’s move, Oregon will have three five-star recruits in the 2025 recruiting class, which was ranked No. 2 nationally before his decommitment. The Ducks’ five-star recruits are; wide receiver Dakorien Moore of Duncanville, Texas; cornerback Na’eem Offord of Birmingham, Ala.; Safety Trey McNutt from Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Rounding out Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class are 15 four-star players and two three-star players, for a total of 21 new Ducks.
