Damian Lillard provides more details about the illness that caused him to miss games

In recent games, Damian Lillard has missed four games due to various issues. He suffered a strained calf in the NBA Cup Finals, so that was the first problem. The other problem was that Lillard was also sick. He finally got to play against the Bulls on Saturday night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has missed the last four games due to an illness and back spasms. It seems that a mistake has spread within the team in the last few weeks. Based on how Lillard describes the illness, it doesn’t sound funny.

After the loss to the Bulls, Lillard was asked about his illness. It sounds like he didn’t enjoy dealing with the illness.

“I wish it was that, I’m telling you,” Lillard said. “I just told (my teammates) before, like I’ve never been so sick in my entire life.”

“I didn’t throw up, nothing. I just didn’t eat anything for two days. I didn’t eat anything at all. I didn’t get up, nothing. I was downstairs. It was bad.”

Whatever illness Lillard had, it sounds pretty miserable. Not being able to eat is not good for anyone, especially not a star NBA athlete. Lillard also mentioned that he isn’t quite over the illness yet and will have to deal with it on the court against the Bulls.

“Still a little nauseous, I feel it in my chest and I’m coughing a little, but I expected it to be like that when I got into the game because I haven’t played yet.”

It sounds like the illness is a bigger problem going forward than his calf strain. He’s not worried about the calf being injured again, but the effects of this disease could last a little longer. He may have to deal with a cough and other problems for a few more games.

If Giannis has the same illness as Lillard, that doesn’t sound good. He’s a big, strong guy who wants to play every game. Missing so many games in a row means the illness is hitting him just as hard as Lillard. A lot of NBA players have been getting sick lately.

The Bucks play the Pacers on Tuesday, so each of them will have time to rest before taking the court for their next game.
