Dan Lanning gets another $200,000 bonus for Oregon’s 12th win of the regular season

EUGENE – Dan Lanning earned another performance bonus in Oregon’s 49-21 win over Washington, and each of the Ducks’ 10 full-time assistant coaches earned at least one performance bonus.

The third-year Ducks coach earned an additional $200,000 for the No. 1 Ducks’ win in the 12th game of the regular season. Lanning’s season-long performance bonuses are now $500,000 if he plays in the Big Ten Championship game, with at least one of the potential bonuses related to the College Football Playoff all but officially guaranteed.

He received a second one-year contract extension through January 2031 worth $8.4 million in salary plus $1 million in deferred compensation, for Oregon’s second 10-win regular season in as many years.

Oregon’s 10 full-time assistant coaches each earned $10,000 for qualifying for the conference championship game. They can all earn an additional $20,000 for winning the Big Ten Championship and $15,000 for appearing in the first round of the CFP or a bye and another $15,000 for appearing in the quarterfinals, with an additional $95,000 -Dollars for additional postseason victories are possible.

Oregon (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten) will face No. 4 Penn State in the Big Ten Championship game on Dec. 7.

Lanning can earn performance bonuses if Oregon wins the conference title ($150,000), for reaching various stages of the CFP and for winning the national championship.
