Dan Skipper of the Lions makes a touchdown catch on a remarkable trick play

Dan Skipper is in the end zone and this time there is no flag surrounding him.

The Detroit Lions used a trick in the second quarter of their big game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, finding their offensive tackles open and putting six points on the board. With the Lions up 21-7, quarterback Jared Goff rolled left to find a wide-open skipper. The 6-10, 330-pound lineman then ran and dashed through Buffalo defensive back Cam Lewis to cross the goal line.

A replay of the game showed that the skipper appeared as the tight end of the game and thus qualified for a reception after reporting to the referee. It’s a notable moment as Skipper was the subject of a controversial play last season.
