Dana White says Chris Weidman, Anthony Smith and Clay Guida should all retire after UFC 310 losses

Three Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans have fought their last fight.

UFC 310 came down last night (Sat., Dec. 7, 2024) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it was a bad night for the former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidmanformer light heavyweight title challenger Anthony SmithAnd Clay Guida.

All three were finished: Weidman was mercifully held up Eryk Anders In the second round (see highlights), Smith was brutally stopped Dominick Reyes (check it out), and Guida was tapped in the first round of Chase Hooper.

After the event UFC CEO Dana White declared that they should all break up.

“They are all retiring tonight,” White told the media when asked what happens next to them. “You should all retire tonight.”

Weidman, 40, was asked by his boss to retire after his defeat Brad Tavares at UFC 292 last year. The former champion would win a technical decision Bruno Silva After stabbing himself in the brain 89 times earlier this year, he has won just three of his last 11 fights.
He might have retired at UFC 309 in his home state of New York last month, but his fight with Anders was canceled during the broadcast.

Smith, 36, has been contemplating retirement for a year, but his love of fighting kept him going. While he hit the rising prospect Victor Petrino in Brazil this year, Khalil Roundtree brutally stopped him before and now finds himself in another two-fight loss.

The 43-year-old Guida is currently on a three-fight losing streak, the longest of his career. The longtime fan favorite faked his retirement from UFC Kansas City in 2023, which didn’t go over well (and really pissed White off).
