Dancing with the Stars Brings PEOPLE to Good Morning America (Exclusive Photos)

If the cast of Dancing with the stars Could use anything right now, it’s definitely a nap!

Overnight on Tuesday, November 26th, the Season 33 finalists traveled from the live finale in Los Angeles to the airport where they boarded a Red Eye plane to New York City for their finale on Wednesday, November 27th. to occur as a result of Good morning America.

It was a marathon journey, but they did not travel alone. The group took PEOPLE behind the scenes of their trip with a series of exclusive photos.

All five pairs of finalists were there: former NFL pro Danny Amendola and Witney Carson; Olympic gymnasts Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold; actress Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong; Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten; and the season 33 champions: Bachelor Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson.

After the flight, the cast sat down GMA‘s Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos and Lara Spencer, where they talked about their experiences on the dance floor and shared their feelings about the outcome of the show.

“To tell you the truth, it’s just about there,” Graziadei said when asked what went through his mind when he heard he and Johnson had won the Mirrorball Trophy. “I was just so grateful. We put in so much work this season, everyone did, but it meant the world obviously understood that and ended it with an exclamation point.”

Shortly after Graziadei and Johnson were announced as winners, the two posed with their fellow Season 33 finalists from the ballroom.

Accordingly Good morning AmericaOver the course of 10 weeks, the cast spent 500 hours in rehearsals, used 200 gallons of spray tan and was decked out in costumes containing a million sequins.

The pictures continued as the group boarded their flight to New York City – but this time in comfy sweatpants.

The bond between the participants was clearly felt by spectators throughout the season as they cheered each other on from the sidelines. But even after the win, the finalists maintained their support as they smiled and laughed together aboard their plane.

Johnson and Graziadei enter GMA Studios to the cheers of the fans.

The pair had perfect chemistry throughout the season, what Johnston described as “brother-sister energy.” GMA.

“Everyone thinks we’re twins, but we got along from the start,” she said. “And he’s just such a hard worker. I think he had the Cinderella story where he had no dance experience and he really picked up something every week and became a dancer. So I really had the time of my life with Joey this season.”

After a quick outfit change, Graziadei, Johnson and the entire cast stepped outside to say hello to the eager fans who lined up to greet them.

Graziadei made history with him DWTS win, be the first Bachelor alum to take the title.

“They are very different, I can say that,” he continued GMAwhen asked to compare the two shows. “I’m going to take a little break from reality TV, that’s for sure. No, they’re both great. I obviously have a great fiancée, I have a mirror ball now, so it’s been a great year for everyone.” They’ve both been great for that, they’re both great and I’m very grateful.

Sit down with GMAthe cast looked back on the season.

Maher, who became a shining example of body positivity during her time in the competition, was asked to spread her message to other strong women and girls. “I think you can be so much more than what people put you in,” she said. “I’m a great athlete, I’m a very strong athlete, but through this show I also felt that I’m a very beautiful and elegant dancer who can also be smart in everything else I want to be. “.

Kinney and Armstrong, meanwhile, reflected on being the first Black couple to make it to the finals and how they honored the history of Black dancers in their final performance.

“It meant everything to us,” Kinney said. “We really wanted to acknowledge this moment, it’s a big moment in the ballroom and.” DWTS History, and we just wanted to dedicate the dance to everyone who came before us so that we could even be in the room and celebrate. It’s a moment to celebrate and I think that’s exactly what we did, so we’re really proud of it.”

Continue somewhere else GMAThe group took part in a series of viral dances in which Maher dressed up in a potato costume. Former DWTS Participants Laurie Hernandez, Nev Schulman and GMAGinger Zee helped assess their movements.

The costumes were nothing compared to this DWTSespecially for Amendola, who dressed up as Ken from Barbie Film for his final routine. “Man, I’ll tell you what, it was fun, it was fun,” he further shared GMA.

“It was really fun,” Carson said. “We wanted to create something iconic and just pay tribute to Barbie and just have fun, and that’s exactly what we did. Honestly, Danny was the best partner, just letting me create and just being up for anything, so I really appreciate that and we had a lot of fun. He’s just Ken.

Nedoroscik helped his team win thanks to some of his gymnastic moves, which he often showed off DWTS Routines.

The Olympic medalist’s last dance even included appearances from his former Team USA teammates. “It was just incredible. “Being there with my teammates, making them a part of my routine, my final dance, it was just a really special moment,” he continued GMA. “I’ve been very happy about it.”
