As NFL players prepare for the playoffs, those not in the running are having adventures in college football games. AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas was packed with fans Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Texas Longhorns until 28-14. Overall it was a good game. But something happened in the game that reminded fans of the former NY Giants QB Daniel Jones.

On a four-and-2 play with 9:50 left in the 4th quarter, Buckeyes QB Will Howard decided to run with the ball. He ran a good 30 yards but then stumbled, tripped and fell with the ball in his hands. He wanted to score the TD since the scores were tied at 14 each. Jones’ similar play four years earlier, in 2020, came to fans’ minds.

During the week seven game against the eagleDaniel Jones ran 80 yards with the ball before tripping and falling. He was just 15 yards from the end zone when he fell. It was hilarious. However, this time the results were different. While the Giants lost the game 21:22, the Buckeyes emerged victorious.

Howard will be up for grabs in the 2025 NFL Draft. But he wants to perform better than Daniel Jones, who called for the Giants to fire him midway through the 2024 season. Another fan called it a potential meme, reminding everyone that the Buckeyes scored a touchdown on that drive and later won the game. He commented: “This would have been a meme forever if they hadn’t scored a touchdown.“That’s correct. But it could definitely come up later.
