Daniel Marcos vs. Adrian Yanez UFC on ESPN 63 preview

Marcos (16-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is putting his undefeated record on the line in what could be his toughest test yet. This fight will be Marcos’ third trip to the cage in 2024. His first fight ended in a no contest against Aori Qileng in February and the second was a unanimous decision victory over John Castañeda. … Yanez (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will look to keep his momentum going after getting back in the win column in May by stopping Vinicius Salvador in the opening round. The result was a rebound from a tough 2023 in which Yanez lost two fights in a row, ending a nine-fight winning streak.

Daniel Marcos vs. Adrian Yanez UFC on ESPN 63 Expert Pick, Prediction

Filling out the main card is a potential slam dunk in the bantamweight division between Marcos and Yanez.

It’s nice to see a solid 135-pound fight not get lost in the prelims. It’s also nice because this slot, coupled with Yanez’s name, gives Marcos a chance to show off his skills to more UFC fans.

That said, if Marcos is unable to show his kicking presence early and often (particularly on the legs), then I suspect Yanez will provide both competitive and exciting transitions.

This fight could go either way, but I’ll be rooting for Yanez’s flashier offense to convince the judges in a close decision that goes the American’s way.
