The Wet Bandits weren’t messing around.

Daniel Stern, who played the bumbling burglar Marv Home alonerecently reflected on the filming of the Christmas classic and even recalled how Joe Pesci accidentally bit young Macaulay Culkin’s finger while filming one of the film’s intimidation scenes.

“I completely forgot about that,” Stern said when asked about the scene in a new interview Entertainment tonight. “Joe is…he’s wonderful, I love him, he’s a dear friend, but he’s a scary guy, and he’s got it all in him. Because he was – we tried to actually be scary from the beginning in the first film, and Then You realize we’re idiots. But there was a fear factor that created the drama of the matter.”

The actor said his Oscar-winning co-star, who played Marv’s accomplice Harry in the 1990 film, immediately expressed regret over the incident. “Yeah, I think he bit it when he bit his finger, and then he bit it – like, ‘Oh shit, I didn’t actually mean to do that,'” Stern recalls. “Joe was like, ‘Ahh, sorry I did that.’ But only then could one see Pesci collapse.

Culkin, who played the film’s main character Kevin McAllister, recently revealed that he still has traces of his delicious encounter with the Goodfellas Star. “I have a scar,” he said during a recent question-and-answer session on the topic Home alone at the Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, Illinois The New York Times. “I’ve seen his face – and I’ve never seen Joe Pesci really scared… because he says, ‘I just bit a kid!'”

Elsewhere in the AND In the interview, Stern shared his memories of working with one of Kevin McAllister’s most terrifying security measures: a live tarantula. “At that point I was kind of in the mood to do crazy things, and when I showed up on set to do the spider thing, I thought… ‘Let’s see what happens. I’m sure they’ll have a great time.’ “Propspider,” he said. “And they didn’t. They had a real spider, and the wrangler told me, ‘It won’t bite you. You’ll be fine.’”

Stern thought it would be cool to work with the arachnid. “So I said, ‘Okay, do it,'” he said. “So they put the spider on me and I let it crawl on my face for about five minutes so we both got used to each other. And then we just turned the camera.”

The actor also speculated as to why Home alone has remained an enduring Christmas classic. “I think the kids love the power that this kid (Kevin) has and the parents love seeing the kid have that power,” he said. “There’s so much heart in it. It’s so funny. You know, I think we’re really fun…and it has a great holiday and Christmas feel to it. But I think what really stands out is that the kid gets us. “Everyone wants the kid to win. It is a film to empower children.

The McAllisters’ fortress-turned-home recently made headlines after the filming location went on the market just in time for Christmas and found a new buyer. The massive five-bedroom home in Winnetka, Illinois – which features a movie theater, gym and indoor sports court – sold for $5,250,000 in less than a week after listing.

Culkin considered buying the house himself earlier this month. “I almost wanted to buy it — just for laughs,” he said during the question-and-answer session at the Rosemont Theater. However, he didn’t pull the trigger. “I have children,” he said. “I’m busy, man.”
