“Deal made in heaven”: Trump congratulates Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earhardt on their engagement

US President-elect Donald Trump recently sent his congratulations to Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earhardt after the network announced their engagement.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump described the engagement as a “deal made in HEAVEN!!!”
Trump has had a difficult past at Fox News since entering politics. The channel, which tops the list of most-watched cable news channels in the US, has often been criticized by Trump, particularly in October when he accused him of having “become weaker and more soft on Democrats.”
Nevertheless, Trump appeared several times on Fox News programs and nominated the presenter Pete Hegseth for the post of Secretary of Defense. In April 2023, Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems after several of its anchors and guests falsely claimed that the company was involved in rigging the 2020 presidential election against Trump, according to Newsweek.
In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “Great news about Sean and Ainsley. They are officially engaged! !!! DJT.”
The abbreviation “DJT” refers to messages written by Trump personally.
Hannity, who has hosted his own Fox News show since 2009, and Earhardt, co-host of Fox and Friends and author of four New York Times bestsellers, shared their joy in a statement released by Fox News. The couple expressed their excitement: “We are overjoyed and so grateful to our families for all their love and support during this wonderful time of our lives.”
According to Fox News, Hannity proposed to Earhardt over Christmas at her home church, calling it the “perfect place” for the special moment. Both Hannity and Earhardt were previously married and have children from their previous relationships – two and one, respectively. The couple confirmed that they maintain good relations with their former partners and had informed them of the new development in advance.
Their engagement has evoked a variety of reactions from people. Some appreciate the duo, others point out the age difference.
The date of their wedding has not been announced yet, but an official update is expected in the near future. Both Hannity and Earhardt will continue to host their respective shows on Fox News.
