IIt’s time for the celebrations to officially begin as the Holiday Part 1 event has begun in Pokémon GO. Out of Tuesday, December 17, 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, December 22, 2024, 9:59 a.m. local timeCelebrate with the debut of Dedenne in adorable holiday attire (and yes, lucky trainers can encounter a Shiny One), the debut of Shiny Sandygast, raid battles, and more. Two bonuses are active during the event: 2x XP from catching Pokémon and 1/2 breeding distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event. Read on to find out what else awaits you during this most wonderful time of the year.

The festive fun continues with event-related Field Research tasks, which upon completion will grant you encounters with event-related Pokémon. There will also be a special paid timed research available for $2.00 (or equivalent in your local currency). Complete tasks related to this timed research to earn rewards including two Premium Battle Passes, an Incubator, 1,500 Stardust, and event Pokémon encounters. Please note that the tasks associated with this timed research must be completed and its rewards claimed before Friday, December 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
