Delta Air Lines stowaway Svetlana Dali was arrested again as she tried to flee the US

Svetlana Dali was arrested on Monday for the second time this month, following the FBI’s first arrest on December 4 for stowing away on a Delta Air Lines flight from the United States to France.

Dali had her ankle monitor cut off and was trying to sneak into Canada, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

She was taken into custody in Buffalo, where the Russian national will appear in court before a federal judge on Tuesday.

Dali was originally caught traveling without proper documentation on November 26th.

She had secretly sneaked aboard Delta Flight 264, which was flying from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to Charles-de-Gaulle International Airport in Paris.

But Dali could not escape detection on the flight and was sent back to the USA a few days later. When she landed at JFK Airport, she was turned over to authorities.

A statement from the French Interior Ministry said: “She was not admitted to French territory due to the lack of a valid travel document (visa) and has since been placed in the waiting area for the time necessary for her diversion to the United States.” She held a valid US -Residence permit.”

Her attempt to secretly enter Canada on Monday appears to be a second attempt to leave the country illegally in less than 30 days.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
