DeMarvion Overshown Injury Update: Dallas Cowboys Say They’re ‘Devastated’

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, but the final score of 27-20 may be the least of their problems.

As the fourth quarter began in earnest, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown suffered a right knee injury and needed help leaving the field and the game. He was almost immediately banned from the rest of the competition.

While the team’s loss to Cincinnati was painful, attention quickly turned to Overshown and the significance of the injury. At the time of writing, it is not yet fully known, but some details have already come to light.

First, Overshown took to social media and expressed his confidence from a faith-based perspective. He asked his followers/fans for prayers.

This could mean a number of different things and is somewhat open to interpretation, but Mike McCarthy has also commented on the situation. McCarthy noted that the team was devastated and that the injury didn’t look good. Jerry Jones said the team was “very concerned.”

The Cowboys would likely want to get official testing and anything unfinished before making any final and official decisions on Overshown, but there is clearly cause for real concern.

Overshown had a remarkable season for the Cowboys in 2024, his first year of play. You’ll recall that Overshown suffered a torn ACL (in his left knee, not the one he injured Monday night) before his rookie season.

We’ll update things here as more is known.
