Democrat predicts “New Era of Prosperity” under Donald Trump

Democratic strategist Lindy Li, who has been raising funds for Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid, said during an appearance Saturday Fox & Friends weekend that the country will experience a “new era of prosperity” during President-elect Donald Trump’s second term.

Li, who serves on the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) finance committee and has criticized her party since Harris’ election loss, calling it a “$1 billion disaster,” told Fox News host Kevin Corke that the Democratic Party ” has the stench”. written by losers everywhere.

She added: “I have a feeling that the Democrats are going to be relegated to the wilderness for at least the next four to eight years.” Trump, who previously served one term as president, will be term-limited at the end of his upcoming term, so the White House is open for a new race.

Newsweek reached out to the DNC press team via email Sunday morning seeking comment.

Li also touched on tech leaders, particularly Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos The Washington Postand her relationship with the president-elect.

“Jeff Bezos is probably thanking his lucky stars for withholding that approval, and they (tech leaders) are now doing everything they can to continue the détente,” she told Corke.

The Washington Post broke with the newspaper’s recent precedent and did not endorse a candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Several tech giants, including Zuckerberg, Bezos and OpenAI’s Sam Altman, have donated to Trump’s inaugural fund. Meta contributed $1 million, as confirmed by Zuckerberg. Both Altman and Bezos reportedly plan to donate $1 million each to the fund Wall Street Journal reported. Bezos is also expected to visit Trump at Mar-a-Lago next week.

When Corke asked about the idea of tech leaders “kissing the ring” on Trump and what might come of that, Li said, “They will cement the relationship between the business community and President Trump.”

She then turned to the “struggling” economy, saying: “People are dying for a change, so I think we’re about to enter a whole new era of prosperity, I certainly hope so.”

“You can just feel it, even in the last few weeks, Americans are celebrating,” adding that “the momentum for Trump’s second term is just tremendous.”

Newsweek Trump’s press team emailed Sunday morning seeking comment.

Earlier this month, Li broke with her party when she defended Trump’s choice for defense secretary, former Fox News host Pete Hegseth.

“I had personal interactions with – because I was there Fox & friends– I met Pete, he is my compatriot from Princeton. I actually think he’s a pretty good guy,” Li said during her Dec. 6 appearance on NewsNation Tomorrow in America.

Hegseth’s appointment to head the Department of Defense (DOD) was controversial, as some lawmakers questioned his perceived lack of experience and raised concerns about sexual assault allegations and reports of excessive drinking.

Hegseth has rejected the allegations. Like other Cabinet nominees, he must be confirmed by a majority vote in the Senate.
