While his old team has its sights set on the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Derrick Henry is back in the playoffs.

After eight dominant seasons with the Tennessee Titans, Henry signed with the Baltimore Ravens before the offseason and enjoyed one of the most productive seasons of his career, passing for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns to earn his fifth Pro Bowl bid. The running back, who turned 31 last Saturday, helped the Ravens go 12-5, win the AFC North and average the third-most points in the league at 30.9 per game.

Henry and the Ravens, the AFC’s No. 3 seed, host the No. 6 seed Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) on Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium (7 p.m., Amazon Prime).

The Steelers are 3-1 against the Ravens in the playoffs. The teams split the 2024 season series: Pittsburgh won 18-16 at home on November 17th and Baltimore won 34-17 at home on December 21st.

Baltimore’s offense can’t be stopped in the first half of the AFC Wild Card game against Pittsburgh. Derrick Henry’s 8-yard run with 4:09 left in the half extended the Ravens’ lead to 14-0. It’s Henry’s fifth career postseason TD.

Henry has 11 carries for 92 yards, 28 of them on Baltimore’s most recent drive, which covered 85 yards in 13 plays and ate up nearly eight minutes of playing time.

Lamar Jackson gave the Ravens a 7-0 lead over the Steelers with 4:45 left in the first quarter by throwing a 15-yard touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman. Baltimore covered 95 yards on its first drive in 13 plays, taking more than seven minutes.

Derrick Henry rushed for 49 yards on the drive, including a 34-yard gain to get the Ravens into the red zone. Jackson went 3-for-4 for 31 yards and rushed five times for 22 yards.

Saturday’s game marks Henry’s fifth playoff appearance and eighth career postseason appearance. In his final seven playoff games, Henry totaled 156 carries for 732 yards and four touchdowns.

Henry’s best postseason performance came against his current team. During the 2019-20 playoffs, he ran for 195 yards on 30 carries and threw a 3-yard touchdown pass as the Titans upset the No. 1 seed Ravens and MVP Lamar Jackson to advance to the AFC Championship Game.

Henry has played against the Steelers five times in his career, rushing for 409 yards and three touchdowns on 81 carries in those games. He caught 24 carries for 162 yards in the Ravens’ win over the Steelers in December, helping them clinch the AFC North Division title.

In his first season with the Ravens, Henry scored 16 rushing touchdowns and ran for 1,921 yards on 325 attempts. His 5.9 yards per carry average is a career high, surpassing his 5.4 in 2020.

Henry’s 16 touchdowns on the ground are the second most of his career, as is his yardage total. He tied with James Cook of the Buffalo Bills and Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions for the league lead in rushing TDs.

Henry finished the season second in the NFL in receiving yards, behind Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley, who became the ninth player in league history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season, and the first since Henry in 2015 Year 2020.

Henry also caught 19 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
