According to DeWine’s office, the facility represents the largest single job creation and payroll project in the state’s history and is expected to add nearly $1 billion to Ohio’s gross domestic product.

“Ohio has a long history of advancing aerospace and national defense, but what sets this state apart is our willingness to embrace the future,” DeWine said. “At this critical moment, our country needs rapid technological innovation, which Anduril will deliver with the help of Ohio’s skilled and hardworking workforce. The future of America’s air force will be built in Ohio.”

The facility will be located on a 500-acre site in Pickaway County near Rickenbacker International Airport. The company plans to invest more than $900 million in capital in the surrounding region.

DeWine’s office said Anduril moved to Ohio because of the state’s favorable business climate, willing workforce and tradition of military and federal support.

“Today is a proud day for Ohio as we welcome Anduril and celebrate the creation of thousands of new jobs in advanced defense manufacturing,” Husted said. “This investment strengthens Ohio’s position as a leader in advanced technology and national security. When it comes to “Made in America,” it can’t be done without “Made in Ohio.”

In addition to the 4,000 direct jobs at Arsenal-1, the project is expected to create a total of 4,500 indirect and induced jobs and more than $2 billion in annual economic output over the next 10 years. Over $1 billion in labor income will be generated in the state and projected tax revenue is estimated at approximately $800 million.

DeWine’s office said the project will apply for a job creation tax credit from the Ohio Department of Development at an upcoming Tax Credit Authority meeting. The project will also seek $70 million from the All Ohio Future Fund at an upcoming Controlling Board meeting.

JobsOhio plans to support the project with a JobsOhio grant. The amount will be announced at a later date.

JobsOhio will also work with Anduril to attract, develop and retain employees.

Expansion of the facility is expected to begin immediately following state and local approval. The first products are scheduled to be manufactured from July 2026.
