Dick Vitale comments on Lane Kiffin regarding SMU, Indiana CFP complaints

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale has made his stance on the discourse surrounding the first round of the College Football Playoff clear.

While Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin has been among the loudest voices complaining about the inclusion of Indiana and SMU in the 12-team bracket after their disastrous opening-round losses, Vitale hit back.

“Wow Lane Kiffin, I thought (you) would be better than mocking Hoosiers for having a hard time,” Vitale wrote on social media. “Has (your) Ole Miss ever had a bad game? Look at the film of your games at Kentucky and Florida.”

Vitale is still firing bullets at 85 years old.

Ole Miss actually had a tough time against Kentucky and Florida, losing 20-17 to a four-win Wildcats team and losing 24-17 to a Florida team that started the year 4-5.

Despite his team’s struggles this year, Kiffin posted several complaints on social media about the CFP committee for working with the Hoosiers and Mustangs despite their weaker schedule. Kiffin hit a shot in Notre Dame’s 27-17 win over Indiana on Friday night, and he hit it again on Saturday as Penn State beat SMU 38-10.

Ole Miss will again prepare for the Gator Bowl against Duke on January 2nd. However, Vitale will hopefully continue to perform at his best throughout the College Football Playoff.
