Diogo Jota: I love scoring, but we wanted all three points

After the game, Jota revealed his immediate reaction to TNT Sports. Read what No.20 said below…

To add to his excellent personal goalscoring record against Forest…

I think it’s just a coincidence. Of course I love scoring goals. I scored with my first touch of the ball today and that obviously gave the team some momentum. I had two more chances, I think I could have given us the three points. Unfortunately I couldn’t and the game continued.

As for what he and Tsimikas said when they came off the bench…

I actually said to him, “We were watching the Cup goal from two or three years ago when he passed it to me, and we were standing there on the sideline and I just said, ‘Let’s do it now, recreate your assist, that one.’ Accept the ball.’ Corner.’ It was a goal, it was one of those occasions where everything worked out. But like I said, I’m not happy because I think we could have won.

About the saves made by Forest goalkeeper Sels.

I told my previous coaches there at Wolves – I think he made two great saves. Of course you want to do better (in front of goal), but I think he was good too.

On the position Liverpool occupies at the top of the table…

It’s a long road (still ahead of us), in the Premier League it’s always difficult on any pitch, even at home. It’s another point, but of course we wanted the three.
