Filmmaker Jeff Baena, husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, has reportedly died at the age of 47.

The director is best known for films such as “Life After Beth” and “The Little Hours”.

According to TMZ, Los Angeles police and firefighters received a call around 10:30 a.m. Friday from a deputy who discovered Baena dead in a home in the L.A. area.

Plaza – known for shows like Parks and Rec and White Lotus – married Baena in 2021 after the two had been together for a decade.

He was also known for films such as Joshy (2016), Horse Girl (2020), Spin Me Round (2022) and for co-writing I Heart Huckabees (2004).

He frequently worked with actress Alison Brie and his wife, with whom he worked on Life After Beth.

Baena was born and raised in Miami before attending film school at New York University. He later moved to Los Angeles to pursue directing, although he initially started out as a writer.

When asked about his directorial debut, writing and directing the zombie film “Life After Beth,” Baena said Seensome in 2014: “That’s all I ever want to do; It felt really comfortable and fun.

“I’ve been a writer for twelve years now and it’s always been a means to an end. I never wanted to be a writer, I wanted to be a director, so that was always my intention and it felt right.”

Plaza has previously publicly praised her supportive husband, telling People, “I think when you’re with someone who’s in your field, they understand on a deeper level what you’re dealing with.”

“So you’re obviously able to support each other and really understand the journey that we’re both on.”
